Join the Wellness Pathways Project

Support your wellbeing and help your community

Do you want to:

  • Feel less isolated and more connected to your community

  • Try local fitness programs for free

  • Contribute feedback to shape better rural mental health solutions

What you get:

You’ll receive a one-month membership to a local movement or fitness program, at no cost.

Why this matters:

Traditional healthcare can’t always meet rising mental health needs in rural areas. This project explores whether movement-based community activities can improve wellbeing and support local healthcare providers.

How it works:

1. Meet one-on-one with a community coordinator to talk about what matters to you
2. Choose an activity to try with one of our business partners—and we cover the cost.
3. Share what your experience was like so we can learn from you

Wellbeing isn’t just about medical care. Connecting with others and moving your body in ways that feel supportive can boost mental health, too.

This project explores whether participating in community-based movement and fitness programs can strengthen wellbeing—especially in rural areas where traditional mental health services may be limited.

How It Works

  1. Schedule a meeting
You’ll schedule a 1-hour conversation with our Community Connections Coordinator.

You’ll meet at our host location, the Park County Drop-In Center: 1313 W. Park Street, Suite #8

  2. Build your wellness plan
In that meeting, you’ll work together to identify your wellness goals, and choose a movement-based activity from our business partners that could help address those goals.

  3. Try an activity with cost covered
We’ll sign you up for your chosen program for one month. You’ll commit to attending at least four sessions/classes during that month.

  4. Share your experience
After you finish, you’ll share anonymous feedback so we can learn what works and what doesn’t.

  5. Get rewarded

When you attend at least four sessions/classes, and complete the survey, you’ll get to choose a thank-you bonus to help keep you going on your wellness journey. Details coming soon!

You can also email programs@sufferoutloud.org to get started.

This 1-hr meeting will take place at the Park County Drop-In Center: 1313 W. Park Street, Suite #8

  • The coordinator meets with you one-on-one to understand your goals, help you select a good-fit activity, answer questions, and provide support throughout the month.

  • This project is a very early, time-limited effort. For this first round, we’re partnering specifically with physical fitness providers so that feedback is connected and comparable.

We know movement-based activities aren’t accessible to everyone, and these perspectives matter to us, too. If you aren’t interested in, or unable to, participate, we’d love to hear from you.

Your feedback helps us understand who this approach reaches, who it doesn’t, and what might need to change in future phases.

We hope to expand the types of activities offered in future phases, based on what participants and community members tell us.

Reach out to programs@sufferoutloud.org to share your experience.

What We’re Exploring

The Wellness Pathways Project helps people connect with local activities that support their wellbeing, like movement classes, creative groups, or other community-based experiences.

Instead of focusing only on traditional healthcare, this project explores whether meaningful community connection can strengthen mental health and reduce isolation, especially in rural areas.

With your help, we can start to answer questions like:

  1. Could connecting people more intentionally to community activities help meet mental health needs and reduce strain on rural healthcare providers?

  2. What motivates people to participate, and what barriers might exist for community members or healthcare providers?

By participating, you’re not just trying something new. You’re helping shape future approaches to mental health support in rural communities.
