Connected Communities
Offering community-based early-stage mental health support for anyone and everyone.
What Is “Connected Communities?”
This program provides mental health support across Montana by offering two recurring community events: casual meetups and educational workshops.
Everyone deserves consistent access to mental health support services, whether they are in crisis or managing an on-going mental illness. In Montana, finding proactive mental health support can be difficult because resources are limited or cost prohibitive. But this early-stage support is essential for preventing future crises.
Feeling like part of a group, engaging with others, and having positive, fun experiences has a huge impact on our mental wellbeing. Combining these benefits with new tools for taking care of one’s own mental health in our daily lives can be life-changing.
“Connected Communities” isn’t just for people looking for a little extra support: anyone who is struggling with a mental illness or acute challenge can benefit from these programs in addition to traditional therapy and/or medication. The more we can support each other, and feel supported, the better.
Healthy communities help people flourish. When we come together to take care of ourselves, whole communities are transformed.
Monthly Meetups
Social isolation and loneliness are more than just uncomfortable states of being: they are major drivers of depression, anxiety, and heightened risk of death by suicide, especially in Montana.
That’s why “Connected Communities” offers free monthly meetups to bring people together to share stories, have fun, and build relationships.
Join us every Third Monday of the month for an accessible, engaging activity that’s not just fun, but proven to contribute to improved mental health too. Upcoming activities include nature-based experiences, volunteer opportunities, and creative projects.
Meetups are always free, and always family-friendly! Bring your kiddos, a friend, or anyone you want to have fun with.
Mental Health Workshops
To provide people with even more access to free mental health support, we offer monthly workshops for anyone facing mental health challenges but who can’t access traditional therapy, or anyone who wants to learn more about mental wellness strategies.
Facilitated by qualified practitioners and subject-matter experts, the workshops focus on a range of science-based ways to improve our own mental health, and highlight take-home strategies people can apply in their daily lives.
If you have an idea for a future workshop, or are a provider who’s interested in hosting a workshop, reach out.
Workshops are always free, but space may be limited so RSVP early. We are working on offering free childcare at all workshops.
